SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY

Suffolk County seeks a dynamic leader to direct the County Department of Public Works. This dept constructs, maintains, and administers county projects; designs, constructs and maintains county highways, roads, and bridges; operates and maintains county sewerage systems; administers divisions of engineering, vector control, building maintenance and custodial services; and oversees the operation of the County transportation system.

Commissioner is responsible for managing a dept of approximately 1,000 employees and a budget of $266 million. Bachelor’s degree required, as well as NYS P.E. License and extensive engineering and/or public administration experience. Suffolk County residency will be required.
